What does “embedded job” mean? It is a new feature released with HWA 10.2.3 that enables you to create a job with all its information directly inside a job stream. This is a faster way to create specific non-reusable steps in your processes. All the embedded job data is contained within the job stream definition. Until now, the job within the job stream constituted a specialization of the job definition previously created as a separate object (Job definition). Therefore, from this release there are two ways to create jobs: - embedded, i.e. jobs that also contain the job definition and - by reference, i.e. jobs that reference an external job definition (Use job definition toggle on) Different users can choose the mode that best suits their scheduling model, or even use a mix of the two modes for greater flexibility. Embedded jobs are faster to create and enable you to control every aspect of the job during the definition of the job stream. This advantage turns into a disadvantage if the processes you are automating involve the repetition of one or more steps. In this case it is better to have the external definition to use as a template and simply reference it. The choice is yours!
