With UnO 2.1.4, we’re introducing one of the most requested features: Dashboards. A new way to observe, understand and optimize your orchestration environment, all in a single, unified view. A centralized view of your environment Dashboards provide a comprehensive, graphical overview of your workload health in real time. No more scattered data or hard-to-read logs, everything you need is now visible at a glance. With this centralized view, you can:

What you can monitor Dashboards are designed to give you clear visibility into the most important aspects of your orchestration environment, helping you stay in control of both performance and costs. From a workload perspective, you can easily track the status of your tasks and identify potential issues before they escalate. Whether tasks are running successfully, waiting, or encountering errors, the dashboard helps you spot execution delays and detect missed deadlines, making it easier to troubleshoot and keep your processes on track. At the infrastructure level, dashboards provide insight into resource capacity and availability. You can monitor workstation connectivity, verify that capacity limits are respected, and understand how resources are being utilized in relation to defined thresholds. Finally, dashboards also help you keep an eye on consumption and operational costs. With visibility into daily and monthly task volumes, total usage, and dedicated tracking for AI agent calls, you can better understand usage patterns and manage your license consumption over time. A structured workspace Managing dashboards is simple and intuitive, thanks to a familiar and well-organized workspace. The Dashboards homepage follows the same structure introduced with the multi-workspace feature, ensuring a consistent user experience across the product. Within this layout, you can easily navigate between your personal dashboards, those shared with you by teammates, and items that have been moved to Trash. This clear separation helps you stay organized while keeping all your dashboards easily accessible. In addition, everyday management actions, such as searching, duplicating, renaming or deleting dashboards, are just a few clicks away, making it easy to maintain and evolve your workspace over time. If you’re not sure where to start, you can rely on the default dashboards provided out of the box. These preconfigured dashboards offer a practical starting point, showcasing how key metrics can be visualized effectively. You can easily duplicate them and customize the copy to fit your specific needs, making it simple to experiment and build confidence before creating widgets from scratch. Flexible widgets for every need Dashboards are designed to be fully customizable, enabling you to tailor the experience to the way you monitor your environment. In this first release, you can choose from three core visualization types—each built to highlight a different aspect of your data. Time-series widgets help you explore how your system behaves over time, making it easy to spot trends, identify peaks, and analyze performance patterns. With features like Group By, you can break down data by folder or workstation, while the Rate option lets you focus on throughput and changes between data points. For more immediate insights, Gauge and KPI widgets provide a clear snapshot of your current system status. The Standard Gauge uses visual thresholds and color indicators to quickly communicate whether values are within expected ranges, while KPI mode simplifies the view to a single, focused metric. This is just the beginning: these initial widgets lay the foundation for a richer and more extensible dashboarding experience, with additional visualization types planned for future releases. Advanced filtering with OQL For more advanced use cases, Dashboards give you full control over the data you want to visualize through the Orchestration Query Language (OQL). By applying custom queries directly within your widgets, you can refine the data set and focus only on what truly matters for your analysis. This makes it possible to narrow down broad metrics into specific subsets, filter results based on numeric values or string patterns, and ultimately build highly targeted dashboards tailored to your needs. Whether you are investigating a particular issue or monitoring a precise segment of your environment, OQL helps you surface the most relevant insights with precision. Collaboration and sharing Dashboards are designed with collaboration in mind, making it easy to share insights across teams while maintaining full control over data visibility. You can grant view-only access to dashboards, enabling others to explore the same layout and metrics without modifying them. At the same time, data access remains secure: each user will only see the information they are authorized to view, ensuring consistency with existing permissions. Dashboards are also highly portable. You can export configurations in JSON format to replicate setups across environments, or generate snapshots in PDF or PNG for reporting and sharing purposes. This flexibility enables teams to easily reuse, distribute, and adapt dashboards wherever they are needed. Federico Pizzari, Software Engineer Federico Pizzari joined HCL in March 2023 as a Software Engineer and works in the UI team on the Dynamic Workload Console and the UnO UI.
